One of my goals this year is to host more. Between birthday and Christmas gifts, my family and friends really helped launch my dinner party era. Best friend Chloe sent me the pale blue and red tablecloth and napkin set above, best friend Anna gifted me a set of insane Toilet Paper Magazine glasses and my sister gifted me a chic set of coupe glasses.
I built my dinner party inspo using the tablecloth as a starting point. I like blue and red for January/February because they offer color without being too summery, but can easily transition into spring. When it comes to lighting, I prefer lamps to overhead and the more candles the better. I'm all about striped candles right now and then always love these rainbow color drip candles.
I'm usually pretty basic when it comes to a hostess gift and tend to stick to a bottle of wine. Lately I've been ~mixing it up~ by gifting olive oil. BUT, the mini Le Creuset Cocette's are on sale for $22 and would be an unexpected and cute gift. If we REALLY like the hostess, Gohar has this necklace available.
Ultimately a party is only as good as the people and the tablescape really doesn't matter... but it's fun to plan.
